I am a Creature of solitude
I am a Creature of solitude
Birthed to a world that did not want me
Did not need me
Did not see me.
I walk the roads alone
Yet not lonely
For I am enough
Though I knew it not 'til now.
Silence is my sustenance
Stillness my drink
Bird song a welcome intrusion
Running brook and crashing sea waves
My lullaby from the womb.
I am a Creature of solitude
Never lonely.
Sometimes the world calls to me
But I squirm from its soulish braying.
How different the song of the Soulful Ones
Inviting, inviting
So I stop on the road
And turn towards the Song
Until another day.
